mangla_damISLAMABAD: The water level in Mangla dam has touched 1209.40 feet which is below only 0.60 feet from its maximum conservation level of 1210 feet while the Tarbela has already attained its conservation level of 1550 feet.

According to the data released by Indus River System Authority (IRSA) here Wednesday, the maximum water level in River Indus at Tarbela was 1550 feet which was 172 feet higher than its dead level of 1378 feet.

Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 158,300 cusecs while out flow was recorded as 157,300.

Similarly the water level in Mangla dam was risen to 1209.40 feet which is 0.60 feet below from its maximum conservation level of 1210 feet.

The water level in River Jhelum at Mangla was 1209.40 feet which was 169.60 feet higher than its dead level of 1040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 19,905 and 10,000 cusecs respectively.

Dam Management Authorities are advised to take utmost care and vigilance in further filling of both the reservoirs and strictly follow filling criteria and safety guidelines.

Meanwhile, the IRSA released 252,996 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 242,291 cusecs.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 192,923, 208,092 and 248,530 cusecs respectively.

Similarly, from River Kabul a total of 34,100 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 48,691 cusecs released from River Chenab at Marala.
