Girls bag top 3 positions in BIEK pre-medical exam

KARACHI: Girls bagged top three positions in the Intermediate Science Pre-Medical Annual Examinations 2011.

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) announced the result on Tuesday.

Sobia Azfer of BAMM PECHS Government College for Women with 994 marks out of the total of 1,100, secured first position.

Urba Ashfaq of the same institution with 990 marks was placed in second position.

Tazeen Fatima Rizvi of the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School who got 986 marks remained third.

According to the statistics, a total of 15,527 candidates appeared in the examinations and of these 807 were placed in A-1 grade.

As many as 2,139 candidates got A-grade and 2,463 secured B- grade and 2,001 candidates were placed in C- grade.

As many as 535 candidates secured D- grade while 14 candidates got E- grade.

A BIEK statement said that marks statements would be issued after two weeks through the respective institutions.

It said that no marks statement will be issued from the Board's premises.

Scrutiny of answer book(s) can be done on payment of prescribed fee and on application within 40 days of declaration of the result.
