Social Welfare projects for needy widows,children
LAHORE: Punjab Social Welfare Bait-ul-Mal and Women Department is providing medicines worth millions of rupees to poor patients in different hospitals of the province under Social medical project.
Punjab Social Welfare, Bait-ul-Mal and Women Department Secretary Fazal Abbass disclosed this while briefing Punjab Chief Minister's Advisor Zakiya Shahnawaz on Saturday.
The secretary said that social welfare department was working on various projects for the welfare and well-being of old people,widows and children. He said that Sanatzar institution was also providing services besides other institutions Chaman, Afiyat, Darulaman and Ghawara.
"At Sanatzar institutions courses such as jewellery and fashion designing have been introduced for skill training of women".
Zakiya Shahnawaz said that Special persons should be appointed in government offices under 2 percent quota.
She also directed that in all the advisory committees socially active and philanthropic women should be included.
She said that teachers of social welfare institutions should be given modern training so they could properly teach the students.
Social Welfare Department DG Malik Muhammad Aslam, Director Programme Abdul Qadoos Akhtar, Director Planning Salman and others attended the meeting.
