FPCCI forms body to take up tax relief with FBR

PESHAWAR: Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) President Senator Haji Ghulam Ali Saturday constituted a committee with vice president, Mohammad Akbar Khan as chairman to take up the matter of the withdrawal of income tax relief for contractors with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The committee was constituted after the meeting of the delegation of All Pakistan Contractors Association (APCA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which called on the FPCCI chief here. Central chairman APCA, Sikandar Hayat Khattak and provincial general secretary Riaz Khan led the delegation comprising of traders from both FATA and PATA.

The termed the withdrawal of the relief granted to the contractors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in income tax under Prime Minister's Relief Package a cruel decision and called for making immediate contacts with FPCCI in this regard.

Speaking to the delegation, the FPCCI chief called for the implementation of the relief package announced by the prime minister and holding a meeting with the chairman FBR to remove the prevailing uncertainty amongst the contractors.

He expressed reservations over the amended return form of sales tax by the FBR and asked it for refraining from such kind of act.
