KARACHI: Diabetes patients can take insulin at or before Iftar and go on fasting in the holy month of Ramzan, provided their doctors permit them, said Dr. Abid Ansari.
Addressing a seminar about health awareness on Friday organized by Sehar Foundation in Nazimabad, he said many patients of diabetes can safely fast if they take their medicines at Saheri and Iftari as per the direction of their doctors.
He said according to a study overeating and use of rich oily foods results in complication for patients suffering from diabetes and blood pressure.
He said such foods in Sahri and Iftar should be avoided. He said taking insulin before Iftar is permitted by many Ulema; however, patients can consultant to Ulema (Scholars) for their satisfaction.
He suggested that Salah-tu-Travih can be a good physical exercise besides worship. He a said a simple life makes people happy and we should try to live as per teachings of Islam.
