LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to initiate an action against various housing schemes being operated illegally within the jurisdiction of the LDA.
Sources in LDA stated here on Tuesday that lists of illegal housing societies were prepared to evolve a strategy to launch crack down against the violators of civic laws.
All such societies grabbing money from the people through fraudulent tactics and attractive advertisements would be taken to task, the sources maintained.
Initially, notices would be served to the owners of these illegal societies to fulfil the legal requirements and by laws of the LDA. The LDA will launch crack down against all those who failed to legitimate the status of their housing scheme.
According to the LDA spokesman, LDA already had informed the general public, prospective buyers and the investors that as many as 73 private housing schemes, situated in the LDA controlled area, were illegal because no formal approval for these has been obtained from the competent authority.
An information counter at LDA One Window Cell at Johar Town Office has been set up to guide the people.
LDA also advised the people through print and electronic media to refrain from purchasing plots in these schemes and verify the legal status of these schemes from LDA before making any investment or transaction. LDA shall take no responsibility in case of any loss in this regard.
The schemes still not approved by the LDA include Abdullah Town, Akhtar Abad Housing Scheme, Aziz Colony, Bilal Town, Faisal Town, Fateh Villas, Fatima Houses, Gillani Homes, Haji Amanat Ali Estate, Haji Park, Hajveri Gardens, Husnain Park, Johar Villas Housing Scheme, Mahnoor Villas, Malik Park, Mian Ji Abdullah Colony, Mustafa Town, Nasir Colony, New Gulshan-e-Lahore, Pak Town, Rehman Park Housing Scheme, Villas adjacent to Aabpara Housing Society, Vital Homes and Zain Homes, Al-Hassan Garden, Ali Homes, Al-Madina Town Housing Scheme, Bilal Town, Doctors' Society, Dream Villas, Faisal Town Ph-II, Ghousia Colony, Grand Avenue, Green Avenue, Green Park, Gulshan-e-Amin, Hafiz Town, Ideal Garden Housing Scheme, Iqbal Park, Islam Park Housing Scheme, Jameel Park, Koh-e-Noor Housing Scheme, Lalazar Garden, Mian Farm Houses, Munir Garden, Roshan Town, Sadaat Colony, Sub-division adjacent to Sultan Town, Walk Land Villas and Yousaf Town, Al-Haram Gardens, Amna Park, Anwar Town, Audit & Accounts Ph-II, Gillani Park-I, Gillani Park-II, Green Cap Housing Scheme, Gulberg Park, Gul-Nishan Housing Society, Indus Estate, Judicial Avenue Housing Scheme, Lahore Gardens, LDA Employees Housing Society Phase I & II, Madina Town, Mehboobia Avenue, Mian Qasim Estate, Olympic Village Housing Society, Park View Villas, Rana Town, Rehan Garden, Tayyab Town and Waheed Brothers Colony.
