SARGODHA: Almost 1.1 million tons kinnow produce is expected from the district this year.
Talking to this scribe, Director Citrus Research Institute Altaf-ur-Rehamn said here on saturday that kinnow of Sargodha district was the best among citrus production which was being exported to almost thirty six countries.
He said that although the yield was affected badly due to scab disease to kinnow plants due to floods and rains but modern methods are being used by the Citrus Research Institution to get maximum kinnow produce
.
As many as 222,000 acres of land had been brought under kinnow cultivation in the district, he added.
Altaf said that seedless, disease resistant and a variety of various other kinds have been introduced by the institution to get maximum yield.
