DAMASCUS: Embattled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has signed a decree removing the governor of the flashpoint protest city of Hama, state television reported on Saturday.
The sacking of Ahmad Khaled Abdel Aziz was announced a day after more than half a million people flooded the streets of Hama in central Syria after calls by a Facebook group to demand the ouster of Assad and his regime.
