european_stockLONDON: European stock markets diverged in opening deals on Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top shares losing a marginal 0.05 percent to reach 5,986.93 points.

Elsewhere, Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 0.23 percent at 7,310.56 points and in Paris the CAC 40 firmed 0.14 percent to 4,014.84 points.
