Hafeez_ShaikhISLAMABAD: An amount of Rs283.666 million has been allocated for on-going and new schemes of the Telecom sector in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2011-12.

Some Rs268.666 million have been allocated for ongoing projects and Rs15mn allocated for two new schemes introduced in the Telecom sector.

Under new schemes Rs5mn were earmarked for relocation of SCOs Telecom Assets due to up-gradation of Karakoram Highway and Rs10 million allocated for the construction of Cross-Border Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) System between China and Pakistan for international connectivity of voice / data traffic.
