SHANGHAI: Chinese shares fell 0.58 percent in early trade Monday, as investor concerns about a possible domestic economic slowdown in the second half of the year mounted, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was down 15.69 points at 2,694.26.
The Shanghai A-share index lost 16.34 points, or 0.58 percent, to 2,821.77, while the Shenzhen A-share index lost 12.77 points, or 1.11 percent, at 1,139.28.
