ISLAMABAD: The electricity shortfall in the country on Friday slightly reduced to 5,789 from 5,985 MW as the total power generation was recorded as 12,394 MW against the demand of 18,183 MW during the last 24 hours.
According to the brief on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 5,008 MW,WAPDA thermal 1,546 MW, IPPs 5,743 MW and Rental 97 MW, the report said.
As many as 680 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC).
The power demand also swelled due to rising of mercury level in the country and it stood at 18,183 MW.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has also increased load-shedding duration. Around six to eight hours unscheduled load-management was being carried out in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
