TORONTO: Toronto's main stock index finished higher on Monday, helped by gold miners, but retreated from an earlier 1 percent gain as energy issues reversed course to track falling crude and gasoline prices.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index unofficially closed up 14.19 points, or 0.11 percent, at 13,391.35.
