COPENHAGEN: Barclays Capital Securities has a 5.36 percent stake in Danisco, the Danish takeover target said.
Barclays held nearly 2.56 million shares as of May 9, said Danisco, subject to a friendly $6.4 billion takeover offer from US chemicals group DuPont due to expire on Friday.
Such a holding would make Barclays the second biggest shareholder after US hedge fund group Elliott which has flagged a 10.02 percent stake.
DuPont requires acceptance for its 700 Danish crowns per share offer by shareholders with at least 80 percent of Danisco's stock to carry out the transaction.
