PESHAWAR: Khyber Union of Journalists and Peshawar Press Club have expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of senior tribal journalist Nasrullah Afridi, who died in a bomb explosion in Peshawar on Tuesday night.
In a joint statement issued the president of Khyber Union of Journalists Arshad Aziz Malik and General Secretary Yusuf Ali, President Peshawar Press Club Saiful Islam Saifi and General Secretary Shahid Hameed strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the journalist.
They said that the government has failed to protect the lives of journalists across the country despite pressing demands by the representative bodies of media men.
Nasrullah Afridi was a senior journalist of Khyber Agency. He was associated with Pakistan Television and daily Mashriq, Peshawar for the last ten years. He has left behind five children and a widow.
Khyber Union of Journalists has announced a demonstration to condemn the killing of the journalist outside Peshawar Press Club on Thursday at 11:00 A.M.
