ISLAMABAD: Secretary Information of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Qamar Zaman Kaira, said on Tuesday that Pakistan had sacrificed thousands of precious lives in the operations against terrorists which should be recognized by the world.
"Innocent people including women, children and personnel of Pakistan armed forces had lost their lives while combating the menace of terrorism and extremism," he said while talking in a TV programme.
Kaira said that the world should keep in mind the services of Pakistani people and its armed forces, rendered during the last ten years. Those, who are criticizing Pakistan and Inter Services Intelligence agency, should show a responsible and balanced approach. It was the ISI which captured hundreds of Al-Qaida's main militants.
Replying to a question, Kaira said that Osama was a big problem for the entire world when he was alive.
He said the intelligence agencies of Pakistan could not trace Osama's presence in Pakistan, adding that the nation had concerns about the Abbotabad incident.
He said Pakistan had 200 million people and every citizen could not be monitored and added that the United States being an advanced and hi-tech country even could not trace and catch terrorists.
To a question, he said Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani visited to France to apprise the French leadership of Pakistan's stance leadership and "I think it was very useful."
