ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rasheed has expressed hope that Afia Siddiqui will be brought back to the country soon‚ after signing of the extradition agreement between Pakistan and the US.
In an interview, he said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed the interior ministry to present a detailed report on law and order situation in Karachi before the cabinet so that federal government can effectively assist the provincial government to improve the situation.
Pervez Rashid said the interior minister had also done a lot of homework on the issue of terrorism in the country and he was in contact with all the political parties. Date for all parties conference on national security will be announced shortly.
He said the cabinet also gave go ahead to various other agreements including economic and sports cooperation with different countries.
