Turkish Airlines sees $8bn revenue in 2011

ISTANBUL: Turkish Airlines , Turkey's national carrier, will reach a $8 billion revenue by the end of this year, Milliyet newspaper said, citing Chairman Hamdi Topcu.

The company also aims to have 165 planes by the end of 2011, the newspaper reported Topcu as saying. Both 165 planes and $8 billion sales were targets originally set for 2015, Topcu said, adding that the carrier raised its capacity with new destinations.

Topcu also said that around 10 foreign carriers made offers to buy.
