KARACHI: On the assurance by Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khan, the Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) has ended its strike.
As a result of this, the public transport started plying on the roads in the metropolis.
A delegation of the KTI led by its President Irshad Bukhari called on Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan, at the Governor House here on Friday.
He apprised the Governor of the problems of transporters, an official of the Governor House said.
Later, Irshad Bukhari announced calling off the strike with immediate effect in presence of Dr. Ishart-ul- Ebad Khan.
He said that the Sindh Governor always understood the problems of the city and played his role for resolution of the same.
Bukhari also thanked the Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for his role for 50 percent reduction in the recent increase in petroleum prices.
He said that the transport strike has been called off unconditionally and there will be no increase in the fares for the time being.
