A day after the opposition's walkout from the National Assembly session, Prime Minister Imran Khan has termed it their 'pressure tactics' to evade corruption cases in National Accountability Bureau and seek National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

The prime minister took to his Twitter handle on Tuesday and wrote, "In a Parliament that costs taxpayers billions yearly, yet another walkout in National Assembly by the Opposition shows that this is the only function they intend to perform."

The premier further said that these walkouts were just pressure tactics used by the opposition to seek an NRO to get out of National Accountability Bureau cases that were not initiated by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

On Monday, the opposition staged a walkout from the NA session over the issue of the Mohmand dam contract being awarded to a joint venture of China Gezhouba, Descon and Voith Hydro. Descon was formerly owned by the PM's adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood.

Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif had questioned the bidding of the dam on a single-bid basis. When it was Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda's turn to speak on the floor of the Parliament, the opposition staged a walkout.
