A robot dictator could rule over the mankind, warns Elon Musk

Tech entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk has revealed his concerns over the dangers of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on human race in a documentary.

The documentary ‘Do You Trust This Computer?’ by American filmmaker Chris Paine features Musk saying ‘AI could lead to the creation of robot dictator that could rule over the mankind’. “If one company or small group of people manages to develop god-like super-intelligence, they could take over the world,” said Musk in the documentary.

The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla took to Twitter yesterday asking followers to watch the film.

According to Business Insider, the documentary sheds light on what would happen if AI grows out to be smarter than humans. The film speculates that the AI will try to achieve a goal in a way humans may not be consistent with, but stopping it would not be an option.

CNBC reports that the entrepreneur has also proposed last year that the emerging technology could put the world at a greater risk as compared to a nuclear conflict with North Korea.

Musk, who has been a vocal opponent of AI for long, quit the board of a non-profit organization 'OpenAI' in February. The company aims to develop and promote AI safely to humans.
