SC allows Dr Asim to travel abroad for medical treatment

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed Dr Asim Hussain to travel abroad for medical treatment after receiving a reply from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding removal of his name from the Exit Control List.

A division bench of the apex court comprising Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard the case filed by Dr Asim Hussain seeking removal of his name from ECL.

During the course of proceedings, Advocate Lateef Khosa counsel for Dr Asim said that his client followed the apex court's earlier permission to travel abroad for treatment and return back within a month.

In his remarks, Justice Qazi Faez Isa raised questions why the law restricting people from flying out of the country was not being applied uniformly to everyone.
