The ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Germany signed a memorandum of understanding with CureVac on Aug. 31 for the supply of 20 million doses of its vaccine under development.
The internal health ministry document dated Jan. 7 and seen by Reuters had the same figures.

Pfizer has said it can produce up to 1.3 billion doses around the world this year.
We now have agreed with BioNTech and Pfizer to extend this contract. With the new agreement we could purchase a total of up to an additional 300 million doses of the BioNTech vaccine.

Germany says does not intend to delay second COVID-19 vaccine shot

Germany has asked an independent expert panel for advice on whether to allow a delay in administering the second dose to make scarce supplies go further.
My impression is that it makes a lot of sense, especially with these sensitive issues, where trust and reliability are important.
