With a view to chalk out strategy to tackle threats posed to present cotton crop and to ensure availability of pesticides, Pakistan Crop Protection Association (PCPA) has called a meeting of its central executive committee here on Wednesday (July 7).
PCPA's Chairman Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry, will chair the meeting, which will be attended by the chief executives of more than 16 leading pesticides companies of Pakistan.
The meeting will also review the supply and stock position of pesticides in cotton areas, apart from reviewing pesticide imports. The meeting will also discuss the impact of recently issued SROs No 336 and 399 (1) on pesticide sector of Pakistan.
Moreover, Ijaz Chaudhry said that the meeting would chalk out a comprehensive strategy, to save present cotton crop from diseases. He called for promoting local pesticide industry for ensuring availability of high quality pesticide on cheaper rates.
