imageISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Leader of MQM in the National Assembly Dr. Farooq Sattar on Tuesday opposed the merger of Karachi Stock Exchange.

Speaking on a point of order in National Assembly, he said KSE should not be made part of Pakistan Stock Exchange.

Sattar said KSE was producing 99.3pc capital trade while the Lahore and Islamabad stock exchanges were producing only 7pc capital trade and added that most of the brokerage companies were attached to the KSE.

He said integration of stock exchanges should not be done as it was not in favour of country's economy. Government should make efforts to streamline economic sector rather than integration of stock exchanges.

Speaking on the occasion, MNA Maulana Ameer Zaman said thousands of NADRA ID cards of the people of Balochistan had been blocked and people were facing problems.

He said NADRA staff was not cooperating with the affected people.

Sahabzada Muhammad Yaqoob said that the people were facing problems due to gas loadshedding across the country.

He said government should ensure uninterrupted supply of gas to domestic consumers.

Rao Ajmal said government should make efforts to promote agriculture sector in the country and work for betterment of the farmers.

He said the farmers were receiving prices of their crops lower than the production cost causing problems for them.
