Dense fog is likely to engulf plains of Punjab and Upper Sindh during night and morning hours, the Met Office said on Friday. It forecast a very cold weather for Balochistan and northern areas during the next 24 hours, as temperature dropped to minus 10 degrees Celsius in Quetta with Kalat minus 7, Kalam and Dalbandin minus 6, each, Malamjabba, Parachinar, Gupis and Astore minus 5 over the past one day.
"A westerly wave is still affecting upper parts of the country and may persist during next 12 hours," the Met said, saying that country's most parts are likely to remain under dry and cold weather over the period. The Met also asked the farmers to step up its protection measure for standing crops and plant nurseries against the cold wave across the country.
