Imran Khan gets go-ahead to contest from Mianwali's NA-95
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was given on Monday the go-ahead by an appellate tribunal of the Lahore High Court to contest the upcoming general elections from Mianwali's constituency.
An appellate tribunal had reserved their verdict regarding Khan's appeal in which the PTI chairman had requested the court to reject the decision of the returning officer (RO). The RO had rejected his nomination papers, which Khan had submitted for Mianwali's NA-95 constituency.

Announcing the verdict, appellate tribunal Judge Faisal Zaman Khan dismissed the RO's rejection of Khan's nomination papers. Khan can now contest from Mianwali's NA-95 constituency.
Khan had submitted nomination papers from Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Mianwali and Bannu's constituency. The RO had rejected his papers from Mianwali NA-95 and Islamabad's NA-53. The RO rejected his papers from Na-95 on technical grounds. Lawyer Jahandad Khan told the court that Khan's signature were different on every page, local media reported.
Khan's appeal against the rejection of nomination papers from NA-53 have also been approved. Meanwhile, the Elections 2018 are scheduled to be held on July 25.
