A Karachi court on Friday acquitted Natasha Danish in a drug-use case linked to the fatal Karsaz Road accident.

The decision was announced by the City Court during the hearing of the case, Aaj News reported, citing sources.

The drug case was registered after medical and urine reports allegedly indicated the use of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, following the accident on August 19, 2024.

The accident occurred when a speeding vehicle driven by Natasha lost control on Karsaz Road and struck several vehicles and pedestrians. The incident resulted in the deaths of 60-year-old Imran Arif and his daughter, Amna Arif, while four other people were injured.

Police arrested Natasha shortly after the accident and registered a separate case against her under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code, relating to qatl-bis-sabab, a non-bailable offence.

During the legal proceedings, a judicial magistrate had granted her bail against surety bonds of Rs1 million. She was released in September 2024 after spending 43 days in jail. The Sindh High Court had also granted her bail in the drug-use case.
