Kohinoor Textile to install 48MW battery storage amid 9MW solar expansion

Kohinoor Textile Mills Limited announced on Tuesday that it has approved the installation of 48.36 MW of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with an additional solar installation of a 9.34 MW solar power plant.

The company announced the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

It said that BESS is expected to be commissioned and commence commercial operations during the last month of the second quarter of financial year 2026-27.

“This strategic investment reflects the company’s continued commitment to operational excellence, sustainability and long-term value creation for its stakeholders and is expected to result in significant savings in energy costs,” the company said.

BESS utilise rechargeable batteries to store electricity, enabling effective energy management, grid stability, and increased integration of renewable energy sources.
