Ghandhara Tyre & Rubber Company Limited (GTYR), a Pakistani tyre maker, has obtained US Department of Transportation (DOT) certification, allowing the company to export tyres to the United States.
The company shared the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday.
“The company has successfully registered with DOT (Department of Transportation) certification, enabling the company to export tyres to the United States. The company’s manufactured tyres comply with the applicable US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards,” read the notice.
It is pertinent to mention that a US DOT certification verifies that drivers and vehicles comply with national safety standards set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
GTYR said that the certification is in line with the company’s emphasis on expanding its export portfolio, exploring new international markets and strengthening its position in the global tyre industry.
