nz-south-afEAST LONDON: New Zealand won the toss and sent South Africa in to bat in the second Twenty20 international at Buffalo Park on Sunday.

Leading batsman Martin Guptill returned to the New Zealand team after recovering from illness which forced him to miss the first match in Durban on Friday. Guptill replaced Peter Fulton in the only change from the side that lost by eight wickets.

South Africa made two changes. Morne Morkel swopped places with fellow fast bowler Dale Steyn as part of a rotation policy, while left-arm spinner Aaron Phangiso earned his first cap in place of fast bowler Chris Morris, who will miss the rest of the three-match series with a thigh strain.

The day-night match was due to start in hot weather on what was expected to be a good batting pitch.

Teams:

South Africa: Faf du Plessis (capt), Richard Levi, Henry Davids, Quinton de Kock (wkt), Farhaan Behardien, David Miller, Ryan McLaren, Robin Peterson, Rory Kleinveldt, Morne Morkel, Aaron Phangiso.

New Zealand: Brendon McCullum (capt, wkt), Martin Guptill, Rob Nicol, James Franklin, Colin Munro, Corey Anderson, Nathan McCullum, Jimmy Neesham, Doug Bracewell, Ronnie Hira, Mitchell McClenaghan.
