Jordan's state grain buyer has issued an international tender to purchase 120,000 tonnes of animal feed barley to be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Thursday. The tender deadline is March 11, traders said. Recent grain purchasing tenders by Jordan have seen greater success following several months in which the country struggled to buy grains in international tenders.
Jordan had changed terms for quality specifications and payment which reduced participation in its tenders by international trading houses. In its previous tender on Wednesday, Jordan purchased 60,000 tonnes of animal feed barley at $198.75 a tonne c&f basis for shipment in the second half of July.
