  • The TMO has issued a series of individual tenders of between 20,000 and 50,000 tonnes of wheat for shipment from March 5-20.

HAMBURG: The lowest price in the first round of offers in a series of tenders from Turkey's state grain board TMO to purchase 250,000 tonnes of red milling wheat on Tuesday was $222.77 a tonne c&f, traders said.

The offer was believed to have been made by trading house Dreyfus for 25,000 tonnes, they said.

No purchase has yet been made and talks continue, traders said.

The TMO has issued a series of individual tenders of between 20,000 and 50,000 tonnes of wheat for shipment from March 5-20.

Lowest prices offered for the other tenders included $226.25, $228.77, $235 and $236 a tonne c&f, traders said.

The TMO traditionally goes to several rounds of negotiations in its tenders seeking lower prices than initial offers.

Any final purchase may be made at a lower price, traders said.

In its last reported wheat tender on Jan. 14, the TMO purchased around 550,000 tonnes at the lowest price of $236.00 a tonne c&f.

The TMO also has separate tenders for 25,000 tonnes of animal feed barley and 50,000 tonnes of durum wheat, which close on Tuesday.
