Sindh Minister for Information, Archives and Labour Saeed Ghani on Saturday vowed to approach every legal forum against the police officers who according to him were conspiring against the Sindh government. The provincial Minister for Information said he and his cabinet members were not afraid of anything, adding he and his colleagues in the cabinet would face animadversions valiantly.
He said this while talking to the media after attending the annual Theatre display of Arts Council Institute of Arts and Crafts on Saturday.
Saeed Ghani said there were few officers in Sindh Police Department who were involved in hatching conspiracy against the Sindh government under the headship of incumbent Inspector General of Police Sindh Syed Kalim Imam. Provincial Minister for Information suggested that those police officers who were smitten with politics should join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.
Speaking about the blames put on him by Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Rizwan, the Minister said he had no objection on whosoever conduct inquiry to reach to the verity of those allegations.
Defending the cabinet's recent decision a propos asking the federal government for the replacement of incumbent Inspector General of Police, Sindh, Saeed Ghani said police officers could not be allowed at all to tarnish the image of the provincial government.
Provincial Minister for Information said there were few black sheep in the Police Department who were constantly striving to bring bad name to the sitting Sindh government.
About the blames on Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, he said the Energy Minister would soon clarify every allegation made against him. Saeed Ghani questioned that how a Superintended of Police who himself was corrupt could blame the cabinet members of wrongdoings? The Provincial Minister for Information said he would surely expose the unlawful activities of all such officers.
He said although Prime Minister Imran Khan was on board regarding the replacement of incumbent IGP, Sindh but few of the members of the PTI in Sindh were opposing this owing to their protect their vested ulterior interests.
Responding to a question, Saeed Ghani said Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and PTI could not remain allies for long as they were forced to form an alliance. The Provincial Minister for Information said that this marriage of convenience didn't seem to last long.
Saeed Ghani said MQM-P never gave priority to the real problems of the people. The party had their vested interests and only for those interests they join or leave a coalition. He said the government of PTI had given nothing to the people except for unemployment and inflation.
Saeed Ghani said the Secretary General of PTI in Punjab himself had revealed that during the incumbent government of PTI corruption raised to a greater extent. Not only that, all the allies of the PTI were of the similar opinion, he added. Responding to the question about rising flour prices in the country, Saeed Ghani said there was no shortage of wheat or flour in the country but yet an increase in the flour price in Punjab was alarming. He clarified that no one would be allowed to stockpile wheat or flour in Sindh.
Meanwhile, while attending the arts and crafts expo of the students of Arts Council Institute of Arts and Crafts, Saeed Ghani said it was always pleasing to attend such events in the Arts Council as it gave me opportunity to encourage creativity. Provincial Minister for Information said there was no other institute in the county promoted the creativity of the students like Arts Council Institute of Arts and Crafts did.
Saeed Ghani said Karachi had produced huge names in the field of Arts and Culture and the role of Arts Council could not be ignored by any mean in this regard. Saeed Ghani said Karachi Arts Council was constantly playing its role in promoting positive image of the port city. For this, the President of KAC Ahmed Shah must be commended, the Minister said.
