Parliamentarians belonging to Faisalabad have unanimously assured that problems confronted by the city would be discussed at appropriate levels and resolved on top priority basis.

This was disclosed in a meeting of local parliamentarians held in the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) here on Tuesday with President FCCI Rana Sikandar-e-Azam Khan in the chair. The meeting was also attended by Raja Riaz Ahmed MNA, Latif Nazar, Mian Khayal Kastro and Mian Waris MPA while Provincial Minister Ajmal Cheema was represented by his brother Sher Afghan.

MNA Raja Riaz Ahmed said that Faisalabad is most important city of the central Punjab. "It is contributing towards national economy in a big way and hence, government was fully convinced to facilitate it by creating an enabling environment for the businesses", he added. He told that PTI Government had taken over charge in a very critical situation when economy was at the verge of bankruptcy. "However, government has stabilized economy and now a new phase is about to start to facilitate the masses", he hoped.

Regarding various federal problems, he said that he will take up issues for the up-gradation of Faisalabad international Airport with Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan.

About, Expo Centre he said that he will also talk to Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce to start the construction of expo centre in Faisalabad. He told that Prime Minister is also having a meeting with business community on 20th January during which he is expected to announce necessary incentives to boost overall businesses in the country.

Latif Nazar MPA commenting on health and education related issues said that we must invest on these sectors which are directly related with common men. He urged upon business community to scratch out this notion that election is not a job fit for good upright and honest people.

He said that if honest people will not take part in this process definitely undeserving and dishonest will fill up the vacuum and later on they would certainly play havoc with national politics. He further told that in Punjab a comprehensive campaign has been launched to weed out narcotics, gambling and "Parchi" Mafia.

Regarding Parks, he told that a campaign has already been initiated to rehabilitate city parks and green areas while tree plantation also stands high on PTI Government Agenda. "It will help in arresting environment pollution in addition to making Faisalabad lush green.

Khyal Ahmed Kastro told that it is first scheduled meeting between parliamentarians and business community of Faisalabad. However, we have not been provided with agenda which could help us to consult concerned departments and give you appropriate answers to your queries. He told that government is going to introduce a new local body system in which 22 departments would be handled by these institutions. "These intuitions would also get 33% funds to run their affairs", he added.
