ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's exports to Iran were 161.941 million dollars whereas imports from Iran accounted for 572.379 million dollars in 2010-11.

"The balance of trade 410.438 million dollars remained in favour of Iran. During the last few years there has generally been a positive trend in trade relations between Pakistan and Iran. However, bilateral trade between the two countries reached 1321.322 million dollars in 2008-09 from 141.76 million dollars in 1999-2000, but has since than come down to 734.32 million dollars in 2010-11," Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim Friday told the National Assembly in written reply.

He said that Pakistan's major exports to Iran in 2010-11 were rice all sorts (9.71 million dollars), Fruit & Fruit Preparation (10.873 million dollars), chemical material and  products (4.158 dollars), Cotton Fabric (3.679 dollars), Manufactures of no Ferrous metals ( 2.466 dollars).

While Pakistan's major imports from Iran during the same period were Petroleum

(242.486 million dollars), Chemical and Chemical Compounds (114.690 dollars)

Chemical Material and Products (100.06 dollars) Machinery (All Sorts) & its parts (11.255 million dollars) Ores and Concentrates of Iron (53.289 dollars), he said.
