CHICAGO: Following are US trade expectations for the opening of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Tuesday.

WHEAT - Down 4 to 7 cents per bushel

Wheat futures under pressure from big harvest expectations in US Plains, fierce competition on the export market.

US Agriculture Department on Monday afternoon said that US winter wheat crop was rated 64 percent good to excellent, up from 34 percent a year earlier.

Benchmark CBOT July wheat futures fell below five-day moving average during overnight trading session.

There were 30 deliveries against the expiring CBOT May soft red winter wheat contract.

There were no deliveries against K.C. May hard red winter wheat.

CBOT July wheat last traded down 5-1/4 cents at $4.32 per bushel. K.C. July hard red winter wheat was 4-3/4 cents lower at $3.98-1/4 and MGEX July spring wheat was down 3-1/2 cents at $5.10-3/4.

CORN - Mixed, up 2 cents to down 2 cents per bushel

Corn market seen steadying after sharp decline on Monday. Short-covering, concerns about planting delays lending support to prices. Plentiful supplies, export concerns cast bearish tone.

USDA said that US farmers had completed 23 percent of their corn planting as of May 5. That compares with the five-year average of 46 percent.

CBOT July corn futures ended overnight trading above the 10-day moving after dipping below that key technical point during the session. But prices failed to hold support above the 20-day moving average.

There were 590 deliveries against the expiring CBOT May corn contract.

CBOT July corn last traded down 1/4 cent at $3.64 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Down 2 to 4 cents per bushel

Soybeans continue to face pressure from concerns about trade deal between the United States and China.

Expectations that slow corn plantings will cause farmers to seed more soybeans than initially planned also weigh on market.

There were 762 deliveries against the expiring CBOT May soybean contract, 284 deliveries against CBOT May soymeal and 420 deliveries against CBOT May soyoil.

CBOT July soybeans last traded down 2-1/2 cents at $8.27-3/4 per bushel.
