Colombia April coffee output up 18pc, exports rose 4.5pc

BOGOTA: Colombia produced 1.031 million 60-kg bags of washed arabica coffee in April, the national coffee federation said on Friday, up 18 percent from the same month a year earlier.

During the last 12 months, coffee production reached 13.7 million sacks, down 2.7 percent from last year.

Exports last month were up 4.5 percent from the same month in 2018, to 967,000 bags.

Colombia produced 13.6 million 60-kg bags of washed arabica coffee in 2018, down 4.5 percent from 2017 production.
