Ukraine 2019 spring grain sowing 59pc complete

KIEV: Ukrainian farmers have so far sown 4.2 million hectares of spring grain crops for the 2019, harvest, or 59 percent of the expected area, the agriculture ministry said on Thursday.

The ministry has said Ukraine's 2019, early spring grain sowing area is likely to total 2.3 million hectares while the area under corn could reach 4.7 million hectares.

Farmers were also continuing sugar beet, soy and sunflower sowing, the ministry said in a statement.
