CHICAGO: Following are US trade expectations for the opening of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Tuesday.

WHEAT - Down 2 to 4 cents per bushel

* Winter wheat contracts under pressure from improving US crop conditions and good crop weather in key US and Black Sea production areas. CBOT soft red winter wheat and K.C. hard red winter wheat futures hit new contract lows during overnight trading session.

* US Agriculture Department report showed US winter wheat crop was rated 64 percent good to excellent as of April 28, up from 62 percent a week earlier.

* MGEX spring wheat firming after USDA report showed that US spring wheat planting was just 13 percent planted, well behind the five-year average of 33 percent.

* CBOT July soft red winter wheat futures held support at low end of 20-day Bollinger range overnight.

* CBOT July wheat last traded down 2-3/4 cents at $4.32-1/2 per bushel. K.C. July hard red winter wheat was 1-1/4 cents lower at $3.95-3/4 and MGEX July spring wheat was up 3/4 cent at $5.08-1/4.

CORN - Steady to up 2 cents per bushel

* Corn market supported by forecasts for more rain in US Midwest that will further delay seeding that is already well behind schedule. USDA said corn planting was 15 percent complete. The five-year average for late April is 27 percent.

* CBOT July corn futures broke through 10-day moving average overnight but struggled to hold support above that key technical point.

* CBOT July corn last traded up 3/4 cent at $3.62-1/2 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Steady to up 2 cents per bushel

* Soybean futures seen slightly firmer on bargain buying after July contract hit new low on Monday. Hopes for trade deal with China also add support but gains limited by massive global supplies.

* US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Tuesday that he hopes to make "substantial progress" with Chinese negotiators in the next two rounds of trade talks, as the world's two largest economies look for ways to end their bruising trade war.

* CBOT July soybeans last traded up 1-1/4 cents at $8.62 per bushel.
