Tottenham v Man City: Titans collide in Champions League quarterfinals

Tottenham Hotspur will face Manchester City in an all-Premier League tie at their new stadium in the Champions League Quarterfinal on Tuesday.

It will be a historic occasion for Spurs as they will be featuring in first quarterfinal since 2011 at their new home Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It may not be an ideal draw for the Spurs as Pep Guardiola’s side have won the pair's last three meetings with one another.  Overall, the Sky Blues have had the edge in 11 of their last 16 games with Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs have not been in action over the weekend—while City beat Brighton 1-0 in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday. Tottenham will be hoping their freshness gives them an advantage on Tuesday.

They'll also be hoping their new stadium can give them an edge, but City boss Pep Guardiola isn't convinced it will.

City would be welcoming Sergio Aguero back to their lineup — who scored 29 goals in all competitions this season, including five goals in five games in the Champions League.

Spurs will be hoping not to concede an away goal in the opening leg, and that task will be made even more difficult if he's on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Talismanic boss Pep Guardiola has played down the stadium factor — but he’ll be well aware of the threat Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen all pose.

Players to watch out for:

Kieran Trippier v Raheem Sterling: Two of England's finest stars of last summer will likely be in direct opposition in north London.

Trippier hasn't been at his best this season but he will need to be on red alert if he is to tame Sterling, who having scored eight goals in his last seven appearances for club and country, is widely tipped as a potential Player of the Season in the EPL.

Probable lineups:

Tottenham: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Sissoko, Alli, Eriksen, Son, Winks, Kane

Doubtful: Aurier (hamstring), Llorente (concussion)

Misses next game if booked: Alderweireld, Lamela, Son

Manchester City: Ederson, Danilo, Stones, Kompany, Laporte, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Jesus, Sterling

Doubtful: Agüero (muscular), Delph (unknown), Mendy (knee), Walker (hamstring)

Misses next game if booked: Agüero, Otamendi
