HAMBURG: South Korea's Feed Leaders Committee (FLC) purchased about 65,000 tonnes of corn to be sourced optionally from the United States or South America in a private deal last week without issuing an international tender, European traders said on Friday.
The corn was purchased at $195.99 a tonne c&f plus a $1.25 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading.
Seller was believed to be trading house Cofco.
It was for shipment between Sept. 6-25 if sourced from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast or between Aug. 12-31 if from South America.
