The Karachi Port handled 89,009 tonnes of cargo comprising 61,420 tonnes of import cargo and 27,589 tonnes of export cargo including 5,160 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargos of 61,420 tonnes comprised of 34,750 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,687 tonnes of bulk cargo; 1,233 tonnes of DAP and 14,750 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 27,589 tonnes comprised of 24,039 tonnes of containerised cargo; 150 tonnes of bulk cargo and 3,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 5,160 containers comprising of 3,116 containers import and 2,044 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 543 of 20's and 953 of 40's loaded while 299 of 20's and 184 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 701 of 20's and 387 of 40's loaded containers while 253 of 20's and 158 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Diyala, Hyundai New York, Chemroute Sun and Sea Topaz carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. KMTC Mumbai, Wan Hai-611, Botany Bay, Berlin Express and Sea Topaz carrying containers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 108,145 tonnes comprising 75,492 tonnes of import cargo and 32,653 tonnes of export cargo including 2,698 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 75,492 tonnes includes 3,536 tonnes of diesel oil; 9,080 tonnes of palm oil; 24,005 tonnes of coal; 169 tonnes of chemical; 2,791 tonnes of mogas, 12,630 tonnes of canola seeds; 1,450 tonnes of LPG and 21,831 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 32,653 tonnes includes 3,222 tonnes of cement 29,431 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,698 containers comprising of 1,149 containers import and 1,549 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were five ships namely Conti Lyon, CPO Hamburg, SBI Taurus, Thor Medoc and Tomson Gas carrying containers, coal and LPG respectively expected to sail on Tuesday afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, cement, canola seeds, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as eleven vessels viz. CPO Bremen, Ru Yi, Han He, Secon-6, Indian Goodwill, Leo Ocean, SBI Perseus, Al-Ejnan, Torm Vencore, Rhana and Kmarin Oslo carrying containers, general cargo, steel coil, soyabean, coal, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five ships viz. CPO Bremen, Maersk Seletar, Ru Yi, Indian Goodwill and Al-Ejnan carrying containers, general cargo, soyabean and LNG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Grains and Furtilizer Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There was one ship namely GH Zephyr carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
