The federal government has appointed Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, as Secretary Information Technology and Telecommunication Division. According to a notification issued by the by the Cabinet Secretariat/Establishment Division, the federal government has appointed Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, a BS-22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, presently posted as Secretary Communications Division is transferred and posted as Secretary Information Technology and Telecommunication Division with immediate effect and until further orders.
Maroof Afzal, who was posted as secretary of the Information Technology and Telecommunication Division was transferred and posted as cabinet division secretary by the federal government on May 23, 2019. Since May 23, the position of Secretary IT and Telecom Division was vacant.
However, according to sources some very key position in the Ministry of information Technology and Telecommunications are still vacant. The position of Member Legal one of the most important positions is laying for the last around one year.
