KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Hussain Wassan, has asked the traffic police to take effective steps towards the prevention of road accidents.
He issued instructions to this effect to the Additional IG Traffic Sindh, Syed Zahir Hussain, on Thursday.
The Minister stressed that timings regarding plying of heavy traffic on the roads be strictly implemented.
He said that action should be initiated against the drivers who violate these timings.
Wassan said that in case of any complaints on this count, the traffic section officers would be held responsible and departmental action would be initiated against them.
He further stressed that there must be observance of the traffic rules, over-speeding be checked and the vehicles should remain within their lanes of the roads.
The minister said that those hampering the flow of traffic be dealt with in accordance with the law.
