The Karachi Port handled 165,030 tonnes of cargo comprising 106,317 tonnes of import cargo and 58,713 tonnes of export cargo including 10,454 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargos of 106,317 tonnes comprised of 74,716 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,780 tonnes of bulk cargo and 23,821 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 58,713 tonnes comprised of 32,223 tonnes of containerised cargo; 160 tonnes of bulk cargo; 14,180 tonnes of clinker and 12,150 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 10,454 containers comprising of 5,228 containers import and 5,226 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,43 of 20's and 1,880 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 15 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 659 of 20's and 675 of 40's loaded containers while 433 of 20's and 1,392 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Irenes Reliance, MT Shalamar, Celsius Miami and FLC Fortune carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Express Athens, CMA CGM Butterfly, Kota Kaya, MT Karachi, Stolt Sun, Eva Hong Kong and Porthos carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 142,509 tonnes comprising 79,229 tonnes of import cargo and 63,280 tonnes of export cargo including 2,867 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 79,229 tonnes includes 46 tonnes of LNG; 9,500 tonnes of palm oil; 41,813 tonnes of coal; 16,845 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 860 tonnes of bitumen and 10,165 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 63,280 tonnes includes; 9,972 tonnes of cement; 9,000 tonnes of condensate and 44,308 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,867 containers comprising of 535 containers import and 2,332 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
There were three ships namely Los Angles Trader, Maersk Denver and Gao Yu carrying containers and bitumen respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships namely CSAV Tyndall and Amoy Action carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, coal, cement, soyabean seeds and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen vessels viz. Xin Hua, Meal Serapo, GS Avenue, Genco Aquitaine, Thor Madoc, Indigo Flora, Nord Traveler, Heroic Striker, Diamidis, Alani, Analipsi Lady, BW Panther, Bani Yas, Maritime Suzanne and NCC Sudair respectively carrying soyabean seeds, canola seeds, chemical, coal, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four vessels viz. Torrente, Maersk Brooklyn, Diamidis and GS Avenue carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday
There were two ships namely Torrente and Maersk Brooklyn carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while another ship namely CMA CGM Butterfly carrying containers is due to arrive on Friday.
