Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday advised the country's youth to cut down the use of smart phones and go to bed early. The minister while addressing an event at the Women's College in Rawalpindi added if it were in his authority, he would shut down smart phones.
Rashid observed that the standard of education for women in the city is the best. He also offered his analysis on the interest level of boys as compared to girls in education. The minister termed boys incompetent, saying they would get admission on 450 marks while girls on 750.
He revealed that the plots given to him have educational institutes constructed on them while a contract has also been given for the construction of a women's college on the city's Sir Syed Road. On the other hand, he also said that a nursing college and hospital is in the process of construction in the city.
Rashid also offered that Lal Haveli could be a part of the campus if the college is converted into a university. He told students that he is an early riser and "if the sun rises ever before me, I will leave politics." Later, talking to media persons, the minister said that he has done his work with respect to the former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi case and submitted proofs of corruption in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) deal, adding now it is up to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) what it does.
Responding to a question, he said Bilawal is gathering a few hundreds people to show that he is a national hero. Bilawal is trying to save the corruption of his father and he would ruin his political career. Rashid repeated his earlier claim saying that he had seen President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Shahbaz Sharif while seeking National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
