Pakistan Day was celebrated throughout the district with national enthusiasm and fervour with the renewal of pledge that we would utilize all energies and capabilities to get the Pakistan out of problems and would do utmost efforts for the development and progress of the homeland. The main ceremony of flag hoisting was held at the Commissioner Complex.
Divisional Commissioner Mehmood Javed Bhatti, RPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saif Ullah Dogar, CPO Ashfaq Ahmad and members parliament Sheikh Khurram Shahzad, Shakil Shahid, Firdous Rai hoisted the national flag while Vice Chairman WASA Sheikh Shahid Javed, the officers of different departments, representatives of civil society were also present on the occasion.
The participants of the ceremony recited the national anthem and active contingent of police presented salute, sweets were distributed among participants and special prayers were offered for the progress of Pakistan and national unity. Expressing his views, Divisional Commissioner said that the entire nation was celebrating the Pakistan Day with unity as it was the historical day of Pakistan history when resolution for the independence of the Pakistan was passed. He vowed that Pakistan would be made welfare state by following the golden principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. RPO said that 23rd March 1940 was the turning point for the Muslims of sub-continent and Pakistan became into existence after a short span of 7 years with organised struggle and the untiring efforts of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said Pakistan was achieved after offering a number of sacrifices and we would not space any effort for the solidarity and progress of the Pakistan. The Deputy Commissioner and the CPO paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the Pakistan movement. He said that the law enforcement agencies were rendering sacrifices to root out the menace of terrorism from country and we would make Pakistan a citadel of peace with joint efforts of the nation. Parliamentarians also highlighted the importance of Pakistan Day. Later, Divsional Commissioner Mehmud Javed Bhatti, RPO Ghulam Mehmud Dogar, Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saifullah Dogar and CPO Ashfaq Ahmad Khan visited police lines and laid floral wreath on the monument of martyrs of the police. They also offered Fateha for the departed souls of martyrs and prayed for the welfare and development of the nation. The contingent of police presented salute to the martyrs of police at their monuments.
The district administration arranged another various programmes to celebrate the Pakistan Day in which the importance of the resolution of Pakistan was highlighted besides renewing the pledge for the commitment to serve the country with devotion and dedication.
