Romania seeks to sell 3.26 billion lei debt in Jan

Published Updated

BUCHAREST: Romania's finance ministry plans to sell 3.26 billion lei ($802.40 million) worth of leu-denominated treasury bills and bonds in January, including 360 million lei at non-competitive rounds of auctions, it said on Friday.

The ministry said it had scheduled six bond tenders in January, with residual maturities ranging from 2.8 to 12.7 years, as well as one auction for 500 million lei worth of one-year treasury bills.

Romania sold about 43 billion lei and 612 million euros of domestic debt this year. The finance ministry has also tapped foreign markets for 3.75 billion euros of 2028, 2029, 2030, 2039 Eurobonds and $1.2 billion of 2048 dollar bonds.
