Farhatullah Babar of PPP is known for his outspokenness, bluntness and directness. In other words, he doesn't mince words; he would always call a spade a spade.
Unlike other speakers at a seminar organised by journalist fraternity, he made a startling disclosure. According to him, there has been a 'creeping coup' against the civilian government in the lead-up to the 2018 elections. He passionately pointed out that both democratically-elected governments which had completed their terms had sacrificed a prime minister each. "A creeping coup has taken place against the authority of the civilian government. The coup has taken place very quietly before the election," he was quoted as saying.
The use of word 'sacrifice' to explain the removal of two prime ministers on the order of country's apex court ill behoves a seasoned politician. Isn't he aware of the reason behind the removal of PML-N's Nawaz Sharif and PPP's Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.?
